CAN FD extension module for the high performance CANnect gateway

The new extension module now enables the proven fieldbus gateway CANnect to access CAN FD networks (ISO 11898 and non-ISO). Amongst other features the high performance extension offers four CAN FD interfaces, each with flexibly adjustable data transmission rates up to 8 MBit/s. Both Fibex and ARXML databases can be used for description files. Furthermore, there are numerous channels available for measurement and control tasks: Analog-digital converter, digital-analog converter and digital outputs.

CW-401 The intelligent current clamp meter with CAN-interface

The CW-401 current clamp meter with a measurement range of ±30 A (further measurement ranges on request) is well-suited for an ambient temperature of -40 °C to +120 °C. Here it achieves  a relative accuracy of 1 % by the help of a temperature compensation. Thanks to its slewable measuring head as well as to its compact and robust design it is possible to take measurements in rugged environments  or hard-to-reach places. Beside the current value the temperature can also be read out easily via CAN-connection. So that the received data can be processed in established tool chains.

CANnect High Performance Gateway for CAN & LIN - Software Release

With the arrival of the new software version 1.3.4.0, the Bus-Gateway CANnect has been further improved and equipped with several new features. In addition to the description files CANdb, ARXML and LDF (LIN) the A2L-format (XCP) is now fully supported. XCP is commonly used for an easy access to internal ECU variables. Another innovation is the bidirectional communication of CAN/LIN/XCP messages via Ethernet. The linking  of various networks can be comfortably created  by drag&drop. Even a comprehensive rest-bus simulation can be performed.

PRECISION MEASUREMENT OF NO-LOAD AND WORKING CURRENTS WITH THE CW-425

The CW-425 facilitates measuring working currents in the 0 µA to 30 A range. The wide measurement range is made possible by two different measuring shunts, which thanks to a switching delay of less than 2 µS ensures it is possible to switch from one to the other virtually seamlessly.  The measured value of the CW-425 is issued via CAN bus; as a consequence, it can easily be integrated in different measuring chains. The field of application of the CW-425 is, for example, automated measurement of no-load and working currents of control units on HiL test benches.

CANWAY UND TRACETRONIC COOPERATE

CANWAY TECHNOLOGY GmbH and TraceTronic GmbH look back on 3 years of successful cooperation. Both partners will in future be strengthening their cooperation in the interests of their customers.

On of CANWAY’s fields of business is the development, production and commissioning of HiL test benches for both individual components and subsystems. These are complete subsystem test benches designed to protect control units produced by different manufacturers, which can be operated as single control units or in groups during the tests. To ensure these test benches are immediately up and running when installed at customer facilities in the automotive and supplier segments TraceTronic supplies customized software solutions for automated testing environments, test analyses and test data management. Numerous customers across the globe already work with system test benches from CANWAY that run ECU-TEST, TRACE-CHECK and TEST-GUIDE. “From our point of view the cooperation with TraceTronic was the obvious way to go, because both parties profit from the portfolio of services offered by the other company and both together can offer products and services with the best-possible value added for the customer” says Michael Raber, Managing Director of CANWAY. Jens Schindler, Head of Business Development at TraceTronic GmbH, is equally as pleased about the successful project development: “The positive feedback from the customers regarding the projects completed in the past three years has strengthened our resolve to intensify our cooperation with CANWAY.” For instance, the pending ECU-TEST version 6.3, the Signal Failure Injection Unit (FIU) from CANWAY will be directly integrated. For users of CANWAY test benches that means an efficient addition, because it is possible to directly control the FIU from within the ECU-TEST environment. Moreover, further integration of CANWAY products are planned for the future and are in the process of being developed with customer requirements in mind.

XCP-GATEWAY FOR CAN BUS AND LIN BUS

The multibus gateway CANnect supports the network protocol XCP. Via XCPonCAN it is possible to retrieve and write memory contents stored in control units defined in an A2L file. XCP variables are linked in a tabular overview with the source and target signals on other bus systems, such as CAN or LIN, by means of a drag-and-drop operation. The autonomous functioning CANnect is deployed in, amongst others, test benches as well as to integrate new control units in an existing group of interconnected networks.

UNIVERSAL CABLE TESTER IN RUGGED DESIGN

The CW-305 is a universal cable tester, which thanks to its modular concept can be used to test a wide range of different types of cable. The cable to be tested is connected via variably configurable interface modules. Once the details of a cable have been learnt its configuration is available for a wide variety of tests. In addition to rapid continuity, open circuit and short circuit tests on all lines the CW-305, which is controlled via a touchscreen, is also able to carry out a continuous test to detect cable breaks.

CAN, LIN AND ETHERNET WITH CANNECT

Utilizing the CANnect it is possible to map signals and messages from CAN and LIN buses with one another. The configuration software depicts the mappings clearly arranged and configured in a table. In addition, it is possible to carry out calculations with all signals via a formula editor. User adaptable lookup tables as well as the option to suppress the transmission of messages via controls make it possible to create complex configurations, which are executed following their one-off transfer to the device over the Ethernet.

CLAMP METER WITH CAN BUS INTERFACE FOR CURRENTS UP TO BIS 30 A AND TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENTS

The CW-401 is designed for a measurement range of ±30 A and a temperature range of -20 °C to +110 °C (-40 °C to +120 °C optional). The use of intelligent analysis algorithms enables the CW-401 to achieve an accuracy of 1% across practically the whole of the measurement range. With a rugged aluminium housing the system consists of a basic unit and a separate, flexibly adjustable measuring head, which allows the user to take measurements in places that are difficult to access. The measured values are outputted via CAN bus and as analog voltage.
