FOUNDED IN MUNICH AS AN ENGINEERING COMPANY SPECIALIZING IN DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSING
CANWAY – the company’s history goes back to the year 1992, the year in which the ,engineering company specializing digital signal processing’ was established in Munich. In this case, the name reflected the aspiration; the objective was to resolutely introduce into industrial projects what was then a relatively little-known technology utilizing signal processors.
Initial DSP developments in the field of vibration analysis and vibroacoustics, which in those days were mostly undertaken for the automotive industry, were quickly joined by important industrial projects. In particular these were DSP based controls for very large gas-powered engines. We not only took on the development work, our task also included series production - as it does to this very day. A partnership that has lasted now for nearly 20 years!

REGISTERED AS CANWAY TECHNOLOGY GmbH
The beginning of production of DSP system in significant numbers was also accompanied by the foundation of CANWAY TECHNOLOGY GMBH in the year 2000. At the same time, the idea of offering comprehensive system-level services increasingly began to take shape; and it is precisely this understanding that represents the fundamental cornerstone of our company philosophy to this very day.

LOCATION IN OSTBEVERN IN MÜNSTERLAND OPENED
2011 saw significant changes; CANWAY TECHNOLOGY GMBH relocated its production to Münsterland, North Rhine-Westphalia. CANWAY ENGINEERING GMBH with headquarters still in Munich was founded a short time later. With clearly defined responsibilities – technology from Münsterland, customer services based in Munich – CANWAY will continue to be a flexible and competent project partner in the future.
Some technologies are subject to extremely rapid and continuous change; however, to date nothing of our common, ambitious objectives from those days has changed – to always offer the customer solutions that are both cost-efficient and future-orientated. Not obsessed with technology for its own sake, but always with an eye to optimizing systems across all phases and the market-related challenges facing our customers.

CANWAY ENGINEERING GMBH FOUNDED AT OUR LOCATION IN MUNICH
Following relocation of our development and production activities to Münsterland CANWAY ENGINEERING GMBH was brought to life in Munich to enable us to continue to offer our numerous customers in southern Germany first class support. Our technical support and sales will be coordinated from here in future.

SECOND PHASE OF CONTRUCTION COMPLETED IN OSTBEVERN
The welcome development of our business with HiL test benches for the automotive sector very soon made it necessary to expand our production facilities. A further 500 square meters of production hall floor space are created in Münsterland, mainly to house electromechanical production and metal working facilities.

It goes without saying that digital signal processing with all its complexities and specific algorithms is still an important focus of our company today. However, many different tasks have been added: CAN bus technology and other bus systems such as LIN and FlexRay™ in all their facets, concept design and construction of comprehensive HiL test benches - also for the field of automotive development engineering. Quite naturally, our range of services within these boundary conditions includes the development of customer-specific embedded applications, primarily for the field of measurement technology.

CANWAY RESEARCH GMBH FOUNDED AT OUR LOCATION IN BERLIN
To retain and extend our technological expertise the CANWAY RESEARCH GmbH was founded at our location in Berlin in 2015. Our prime objective at this location is to work on future technologies and research projects with focus on FPGA technology, which is developing at breakneck speed.
