CAN-USB-Interface

The CW-101 module expands the product range in the field of bus technology. It is used for quick and easy connection of a CAN bus to a PC via USB. Without the need for driver installation, users benefit from a simple and cost-effective CAN interface, whether in automation technology, robotics, test benches, or the commercial vehicle and automotive industries.

The CW-101 CAN-USB interface implements the ISO standard 11898-2 (High-Speed CAN) with data rates from 125 kbit/s up to 1 Mbit/s. In addition, the data rates of 20, 50, and 100 kbit/s, which are frequently used in automation, are supported. Both 11-bit and 29-bit CAN identifiers are evaluated.

Together with the CW-901 software, the CAN-USB interface not only allows easy logging and analysis, but also the targeted (synchronous) transmission of individual CAN messages, optionally with direct support for the widely used CANdb data format (DBC).

The standard connection between the CAN bus adapter and the CAN bus is achieved by means of a D-Sub 9 connector. A special CAN mini USB connector is also available for our CW- 200 series, used to monitor machine and plant applications — other optional cable and connector sets are also possible on request.
